 If you voluntarily provide information to us, such as by filling in an online form, or sending us an email, this constitutes your consent to the use of that information for the stated purpose. In particular, any medical information that you may submit will be kept confidential and not disclosed to any other person without your consent. If you send us information which is for publication on the website or which you post on the website then such sending or publication will constitute your consent.

Information, personal or otherwise, is never sold or made available to third parties for any purpose, except when we are obliged to do so by the government or third parties under certain circumstances. There is always the possibility that third parties may circumvent our security measures to unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications.

Your privacy and the protection of your personal data are important to BSIO.  The goal of the new GDPR framework is to make sure that we deal with your data in a lawful and transparent manner and that we take steps to ensure that your data are adequately protected.

How we obtain your personal data

-       By making an online payment

-       basic details such as name, address, contact details and next of kin

-       details of contact we have had with you and payment information (not stored by BSIO)

We use this information in order to provide you with education and membership services.  This means that the legal basis of our holding your personal data is for legitimate interest.

Legitimate interest

Your Personal Data is held and processed on the lawful basis that such action is in the legitimate interest of the company in pursuing the purposes described. This has been considered through the use of a legitimate interest assessment which does not outweigh risks to the rights, freedoms and interests of you as the Data Subject.

The purposes of collecting your Personal Data is to provide educational information and membership services to you. Personal Data is collected and used for the purpose of delivering the services you have requested from BSIO.

We have adopted a “Privacy by Design” approach to your personal information, meaning that, to the best of our ability, we will employ state of the art means of collecting, storing, and transmitting your data, with a view to promoting privacy and data protection from the outset.

How we use your personal data

We undertake at all times to protect your personal data, including any contact details, in a manner which is consistent with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) concerning data protection. 

Sharing your personal data

BSIO and its staff use your Personal Data for legitimate interest to provide information on integrative cancer care and membership services to you.

We do not sell or trade your Personal Data to others. 

Our website also uses cookies and collects IP addresses, which means a number that can uniquely identify a specific computer or other device on the internet. This non-personal identification data may be collected whenever you interact with our website and may include technical data about your browser, type of device used, operating system, Internet service provider, and other similar data.
